The team, made up of Shrey Nandiwada, Tom Monk, Rhys Hathaway and Hal Gardner, were one of six involved in the competition and went up against Greenbank High School.

Both teams were described as outstanding with the judge stating that the battle between the two teams was the “moment of the whole day”.

Worden were declared the overall winning team.

Suzanne Gardner, head of English at the Westfield Drive school said: “I knew we had a very strong team but they excelled on the day and I am extremely proud of them”.

Headteacher Chris Catherall added “The boys came
back to school cheering with excitement after their win against some strong
competition.

“They were grinning from ear to ear and we are all really proud of them.”
