Schools across Central Lancashire have been celebrating after a host of accolades were handed out at the annual Lancashire Evening Post Education Awards.
These awards celebrated the successes and achievements taking place in primary and secondary schools across the area.
Sponsored by Preston’s College and BAE Systems, the aim of the awards is to showcase and celebrate the best students, teachers and schools - and that they did by the bucketful.
Judges had the arduous task of sifting through the submissions and deliberating on the final shortlist.
Winners in each of the 12 categories were announced at a packed ceremony at Preston’s Guild Hall, with entertainment provided by talented students from Preston’s College.
Lancashire Evening Post deputy editor Nicola Adam was on hand to help present and said: “What a fantastic night and what an inspirational bunch of people .
“This was definitely the loudest Education Awards so far, the atmosphere was electric and it was amazing to hear about all of the fantastic work going on in our schools.
“All those winners and runners up should be very proud, you are the best of the best.
“Thanks to the students from our main sponsors Preston’s College who performed.
“They were fantastic and really set the tone for the evening as well as showing others what young people are capable of.
“I am already looking forward to next year.”
