A group of enterprising students have ventured into the world of film to help showcase their talents.
The final year fashion promotion students from the University of Central Lancashire have to produce a creative brochure to showcase all of their skills and experiences gained throughout the four year course.
They have decided to embark on an innovative crowdfunding method to help them get going.
In order to cover the £1,600 costs a the students have designed, directed and produced an innovative crowdfunding video demonstrating the extensive breadth of skills and techniques involved in the fashion promotion course.
They plan to distribute the brochure to potential employers and at Graduate Fashion Week, where industry representatives scout for new talent.
But they have less than a month to rsie the cash to finance the publication so have released the video on Kickstarter (www.kickstarter.com).
Course leader Eve Astle, said this is one of the first university courses to be featured on Kickstarter.
She added:“I am extremely proud of all the students for their dedication and professionalism in producing and directing every aspect on the Kickstarter video.
“A great promotion idea, a worthy cause and a great way to help them get noticed - I’m looking forward to seeing the pledges roll in.”
The students are hoping people will pledge sums, ranging from £3 for a shout on Twitter to £150 for an exclusive marketing consultation for businesses with a group of knowledgeable students.
