The children from Fulwood Academy, Ashton Community Science College and singers from the Lancashire Youth Vocal Ensemble were joined by local dance and drama groups for the concert.

A second event was held at Preston Flag Market when a range of groups came together to celebrate the city’s cultural life with music and performances.

“We are extremely proud of our local schools and young people and I’m personally delighted when they take to the stage to convey a strong message of peace and integration,” said Makhlisur Rahman, chairman of the Preston and Western Lancashire Racial Equality and Diversity Council.
