Budding politicians have taken part in a mock council meeting.
Children from Woodlea Junior School, St Aidan’s School, Cuerden Church School, Leyland Methodist Junior School and The Coppice School voiced their opinions in a debate.
The agenda included questions on recycling, wind farms and whether teachers should use sweets to reward pupils.
South Ribble Mayor Coun Dorothy Gardner said it was an “excellent meeting” and the children were all enthusiastic in their debates.
She said: “I was impressed by the range of views expressed by all of the pupils and I am sure there are some future South Ribble councillors among them.
“The children were a credit to the schools .
“I only wish all of the council meetings we hold were like that!”
