If you can’t go to the seaside, why not bring the Costa to you.
That’s the view of staff at Preston College’s nursery, who decided to make the most of the warm summer by treating their young charges to a trip to the seaside... without leaving town.
The Learning Tree Childcare Centre, at the college’s Fulwood Campus, decided to mark national Play Day by turning the outside areas into a Hawaiian playground.
Staff and youngsters, from babies upwards, dressed in tropical style, complete with flower garlands and got into the summer mood by having their faces painted.
Besides the obligatory sand pit, tropical fruit and drinks were served up and the children took part in a variety of games based on a summer theme.
