BUDDING young movie-makers put on a star turn when they snapped up a local celeb for their new production.

Pupil from St Matthew’s CE Primary School in Preston have entered a special competition organised by the Houses of Parliament.

Entrants were tasked with marling a short film about an issue which interested them.

Year six pupils invited Preston MP Mark Hendrick into the New Hall Lane school for a grilling.

He was put under the spotlight a s the 10 and 11 year olds quizzed him about cyber bullying.

The MP said: “ It was a very interesting event.

“They were lovely children, really nice and the whole event went really well.”

He added: “They had done their research with a list of questions for me to answer. and it was filmed before an audience of parents.”

The questions ranged from Is cyber bullying a big issue to what measures were being taken by the Government to tackle the crime.

The MP said: “The children were very clued up and I talked through the various issues.

“I think this is a very important issue, particularly as all kids carry mobiles, or smartphones these days. “
