Our class - Sherwood Primary

Safety conscious youngsters at Preston's Sherwood Primary have been putting their best feet forward.

The entire population of the Fulwood school took part in a week of special activities all aimed at highlighting and reinforcing road safety.

Pupils and staff from across the school used the week to also promote exercise and healthy eating.

They took part in a wide range of events, including visits from popular characters like the Be Safe Bee and Deepdale Duck, who walked around the playground with children and attended assemblies.

There were also road safety talks and visits by local police, a walk in wellies day and competitions with prizes for activity sheets.

During the week children had a chance to earn stickers, complete an activities booklet and there were certificates signed by Preston North End players for the children in each year who had made the most effort to walk or taken on board the ideas of the week.
