Staff a from Lancashire’s leading agricultural college have spent years researching for a new guide.
Entitled “Trees in the Townscape”, it is backed by the Department for Business, Woodland Trust and other major national organisations.
As a result ,the college is urging local decision makers in local government and relevant organisations to support a new guide on urban trees
It provides 12 key principles for local decision makers, particularly councils, to follow when developing town and city centres.
Myerscough College has been heavily involved in producing the report from the point of view of research contributions.
The Bilsborrow college’s research fellow Dr Mark Johnston MBE, is a major contributor to the tome and the college wants local authorities to back and publicly support the principles contained within the new guide.
