County schools still top class
According to the latest data from the Office for Standards in Education, the county’s schools better the national average, with even the number of those under-performing being far less than the rest of the country.
Figures to March show 92.3 per cent are good or outstanding– pitting the county in the top quarter in the country.

Hide AdNearly a quarter, 23.8 per cent of Lancashire schools were outstanding, Lancashire’s figure for ‘requires improvement’ is 2.5 per cent, lower than the rest of the country at 8.9 per cent which still leaves 1.3 per cent deemed ‘inadequate’.
The figure for the rest of the country stands at 1.7 per cent.
