The Lancashire Evening Post annual Education Awards ceremony went off with a bang last night as stars from schools across central Lancashire were treated to a glittering night of celebration at Preston’s premier entertainment venue.

Aimed at celebrating the great and good that goes on in schools across Preston and central Lancashire, the awards recognise the achievements that schools and pupils make on a daily basis.

Those who made the shortlist - and the eventual winners- who took to the stage at The Guild Hall, were nominated by their schools, parents, governors and the general public as a tribute to the work that goes on.

Guests included a host of civic dignitaries including the principal of Preston’s College, Lis Smith, Andy Leahy, site director at BAE Systems, Warton and the deputy editor of the Lancashire Evening Post, Nicola Adam

plus teachers, staff, parents and pupils from schools across central Lancashire.

The awards had 13 different categories and were sponsored by Preston’s College and BAE Systems.
