West Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper is encouraging residents to test their numeracy skills with The National Numeracy Challenge.
National Numeracy has launched a new drive to end the UK’s low levels of adult numeracy and is encouraging everyone to check their own level of numeracy, using a web-based self assessment tool.
Those who need help will be lead towards suitable programmes, with the initial target to raise at least one million people out of poor numeracy over the next five years.
Ms Cooper said: “Improving maths skills can be very advantageous to people’s everyday lives not only in terms of career prospects but also in understanding statistics in the media and helping children with maths school work.”
