The number of high grades notched up by Runshaw students has reached an all time high.
Once again, more than 400 students from the Leyland college are moving on to the most prestigious universities in the UK, including 13 who are heading to Oxford and Cambridge.
Overall pass rate was 99.9 per cent.
Runshaw students achieved a record 11 per cent A* grades, with 69 per cent of all grades in the range A*-B.- despite a blip in the biology exams.
There were outstanding A*-A top grade performances in many subjects, including 50 per cent A-A* grades in the core subjects of English and maths.
The Langdale Road college was put under the microscope by examining body AQA following concerns over the way the biology practical was conducted.
However the college said that student’s grades had not been affected.
For the third year running Runshaw’s AS students also achieved well above 50% A*-B grades.
The results delighted new principal Simon Partington, who said: “This is a day of great celebration for our students and staff who have worked so hard to once again produce a set of exceptionally strong A level results.
“Our students have once again been a delight to teach and they should be very proud of their achievements.
“They can now look forward to a very bright future and we look forward to tracking their progress in the years to come.”
