HEAVY DELAYS: Lane closure causes further traffic problems on M6 in Lancashire

Drivers are being warned about further delays to existing traffic after part of the M6 motorway has been closed off this afternoon.

Highways England has announced lane closures are in place near J28 for Leyland after a vehicle broke down on the northbound exit slip road.

The event is expected to clear by 5.45pm.

Further delays are also expected on the northbound carriageway, between J29 for Bamber Bridge and J33 for Galgate, due to congestion.

On the southbound stretch, between J33 for Galgate and J32 for Broughton, there are delays of 30 minutes - with normal conditions expected between 4.15pm and 4.30pm.
