Death shock led to drug addict's relapse

A man relapsed and returned to drug taking after finding the body of his brother who had shot himself.

Joseph O'Donohue admitted he had taken temazepam and was "off his face" when he burgled the garage of a house in St Annes.

He was caught when a neighbour of the victim found a carrier bag containing O'Donohue's mobile phone and some of the stolen property near the crime scene.

O'Donohue, a 41-year-old father, of Canberra Way, Warton, pleaded guilty to burglary.

Blackpool magistrates sentenced him to a three-month curfew, during which he will be electronically tagged and must remain inside his home between 10pm and 8am.
