Cyclists on charity trip to Cornwall
Parishioners from Kings Church in Penwortham are gearing up for the ride of their life.
Five members of the congregation will saddle up to take part in a 380 mile charity bike ride from Preston to Cornwall.
The team, Jack Kerridge, Ian Clarkson, Xingbo Shen (Raymond), Jason Spender and Chris Carey – aged from 15 to 70 – will take seven days to complete the journey with stops in Frodsham, Gloucestershire and Bristol.
Parishioner Jack, 70, who helped to organise the event said: "We've all put a lot of effort into the challenge.
"The lads, some who have never ridden before, have got new bikes and equipment.
"We've been training a couple of times a week around the Fylde and the Bleasdale Fells to get used to the conditions. I just hope the weather is good."
The group leave Kings Church, Cop Lane, Penwortham, at 11.30am on Sunday.
