Cyclist '˜serious' after milk tanker collision

A Lancashire cyclist has been left with severe injuries following a collision with a milk tanker.

The accident happened In Scorton, near Garstang, at around 3.10pm on Monday October 31.

The cyclist, a 49-year-old man from Poulton, near Blackpool, was travelling along Long Lane when near to Tinkers Lane, he came off his bike into the path of a milk tanker travelling on the opposite side of the road.

The milk tanker went over the cyclist and he was left with multiple fractures to his upper body, a severe leg injury and internal injuries.

Police said he was in a serious condition at Royal Preston Hospital.

Sgt Nigel Ralphson from the Road Policing Unit said: “This looks like an extremely tragic accident which has left a man in a very poorly condition in hospital.

“We need anyone who may have seen anything that could help us with our investigation to come forward.”
