A 43-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life after a front door was set on fire.

Emergency services were called to Chapel Street, Galgate, at 10.50pm on Thursday, after reports of a woman trapped inside a burning house.

When they got there, the woman was found uninjured and the door was found on fire around the letter box.
