A TEAM of volunteers caught several motorists up to no good in a scheme to educate drivers.
A Preston Community Roadwatch Team took part in two operations on St George’s Road, Deepdale, and Harewood Road, Deepdale.
Any motorist spotted offending by the team is sent a letter through the post advising them of their behaviour.
The team recorded 651 cars passing them on St George’s Road and recorded 11 seat belt offences, two speeding offences and one driver on their mobile telephone.
On Harewood Road, where 179 cars passed the volunteers, 18 offences were recorded including 11 for speeding, six seat belt offences and one driver using their mobile phone.
A spokesman said: “This initiative is about education not enforcement.
“Community Roadwatch are volunteers that help Lancashire Constabulary keep local roads safe for the public.
“Their contribution is invaluable.”
