Friends have paid tribute to a 25-year-old man believed to have been murdered at his girlfriend’s home.
Adam Wilson, from Lostock Hall, was found with a serious stab wound following a disturbance in Albrighton Crescent, Lostock Hall, on Monday night.
Detectives believe he was at his girlfriend’s house when an ex-boyfriend turned up before 11pm.
A disturbance broke out and Mr Wilson was sustained fatal injuries, police said.
He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Today pals posted tributes to Adam on social media.
Shereen Dardar Lee posted: “Cannot believe you’re gone, you’ve left us all heartbroken. I hope you find peace and happiness Adz and are in a better place.”
Laura Macpherson said: “Can’t describe how upset I am. What a lad to be robbed from us.”
And Stephanie Hodgkinson said: “Such a nice lad to be taken too soon. You’ll be missed by loads. RIP Adz.”
Police said initial indications of a post mortem examination are that he died as a result of a stab wound to the leg.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in the area around Albrighton Crescent in the hours before the incident.
Det Chief Inspector Neil Ashton, said: “This is a tragic incident where a young man has lost his life.
“I would appeal for anyone who has any information, however unimportant they think it may be, to come forward and contact us. I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw a man described as white male, early twenties, wearing dark coloured tracksuit top and tracksuit bottoms who may have had with him a red mountain bike in the area on Monday.”
A 21-year-old man from Lostock Hall arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody.
