Firefighters, police and paramedics have been called to the scene of a three-car collision in Preston.

The incident happened at 1.40pm today in Heatley Street in the city centre.

One person was initially reported as being trapped inside one of the cars, but when firefighters arrived they had already been helped from the vehicle by paramedics.

A 23-year-old woman complained of neck and back pain and was checked over by paramedics at the scene as a precaution.

No one was taken to hospital and there were no serious injuries, police said.

Firefighters checked the vehicles and said there was no risk of fire or fuel spillage as a result of the crash.

Heatley Street was briefly closed while the scene was cleared.
