A pedestrian was taken to hospital with a broken eye socket, cheek bone and a collapsed lung after being hit by a car in Preston.
The 22-year-old man from Preston was crossing the zebra crossing on Moor Lane with a friend when he was involved in a collision with a blue Ford Focus travelling towards the A6.
It happened last night at 9.15pm.
The man was taken by ambulance to hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Police launched an investigation and a Ford Focus was traced to an address in Leyland where three people were arrested.
They are a 32-year-old man from Leyland arrested on suspicion of failing to stop after an accident and failing to provide a specimen; a 29-year-old woman from Leyland arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop and a 43-year-old man from Leyland arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop.
The 32-year-old man and the woman were bailed until November, and the 43-year-old man was in custody.
Sgt Finn Quainton, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw this collision or the Ford Focus in the moments before to contact us.”
