Three people were viciously assaulted as they walked home from a house party.

Police are today appealing for information after the incident in Lancaster.

At around 1.30am on Sunday January 13, a group of 12 people, aged between 16 and 20, were walking home along Bowerham Road when they came across a group of five or six men on the opposite side of the road.

Words were exchanged between the two groups before a number of men from the smaller group approached the larger group and punched two men and one woman.

The group of 12 were from out of the area and cannot be sure exactly where the assault took place, but it is believed it probably happened somewhere between the junction of Barton Road/Lentworth Drive and Bowerham Road/Wellington Road.

The three victims only suffered minor injuries but police are keen to speak to anyone who has any information.

PC Giuseppe Agliolo said: “I would appeal to anybody who has any information about this incident to contact police.”
