A MAN who was found with half a snooker cue on a Preston street has been sent to prison for 76 days.

Daniel Thomas Padgett, 35, of Fox Street night shelter, Preston city centre, admitted having an offensive weapon in a public place after the incident on September 25 this year.

Preston Magistrates’ Court heard the offence was committed just three days after the conclusion of his community order.

He was ordered to pay an £80 victim surcharge and a £180 criminal courts charge by the bench, who said the matter was “aggravated” by his previous lengthy criminal record.
