Police are investigating after a smoke bomb was thrown through the window of a house in Preston.
The attack happened at around 2pm on Monday afternoon in Hawthorn Road, Ribbleton.
Firefighters were called to the property as smoke billowed out of a bathroom window.
A police spokesperson said: “It would appear someone approached the house and made threats to the occupant that they would firebomb the place.
“They then left the area. But shortly after that the resident heard a hissing sound and saw smoke coming from the groundfloor bathroom.
“Fire crews later recovered a canister from the property and the incident is under investigation.
”Fortunately no-one was injured and, apart from the smoke, no damage was caused to the house.”
Police are appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or has any information about the attack, to contact them on 101 quoting log number 668 of June 22.
