A thief who stole £40 of meat just two hours after walking away from court with a community order has been given a suspended jail term.
Lee Cherry, 39, of West Park Avenue, Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston, pleaded guilty to shoplifting at Preston Magistrates Court.
The bench heard he stole from a Morrisons Local store on June 27.
He was sentenced to three months suspended for nine months, with nine months supervision.
The bench said the matter was aggravated by his previous convictions and ordered him to pay an £80 surcharge, but made no order for costs.
