A former councillor jailed for money laundering has been locked up for a further two years.
Frank McGrath, 61, had been told to pay £925,000 “benefit” deemed to have been made from crime, by a judge in April last year.
The former deputy leader of Preston Council was granted an extra six months to pay in October last year.
Magistrates in Bolton heard on Tuesday that around £480,000 had been paid so far but another £444,680 was still outstanding.
The court added another 791 days to McGrath’s sentence, to be served consecutively to a four-and-a-half year jail term, given in March 2010 for money laundering for drug trafficker Silvano Turchet.
