OFFICERS trying to locate a man who is wanted on prison recall have issued a new appeal for information.'Ronald Mellor, 38, from Preston was originally sentenced to 54 months imprisonment in November 2011 for a violent burglary. He was released from HMP Thorn Cross in February on licence.

OFFICERS from Lancashire Police are trying to locate a Preston man who is wanted on prison recall.

Ronald Mellor, 38, who is believed to have links to the Preston and Merseyside areas, was sentenced to 54 months imprisonment in November 2011 for a violent burglary.

He was released from HMP Thorn Cross in February on licence.

DI Jon Clegg from Preston CID said: “We are trying to trace Mellor as a matter of urgency and I would urge anyone who has seen him or knows of his whereabouts to contact us as the earliest opportunity.

“If anybody has seen him, please call 101 with any information.”
