A hunt has been launched for a wanted man over a “nasty wounding” that left a man with a broken nose.

Police officers are hunting 33-year-old suspect James Fewtrell from Preston in connection with the incident which happened last month.

It is alleged he broke his victim’s nose and carried out a “vicious and sustained” assault on him.

Preston CID launched a probe, but so far officers have been unable to trace Fewtrell.

The 37-year-old victim was injured in an unprovoked attack on Maitland Street, Ribbleton, at around 8.30pm on August 22 and was later treated in the Royal Preston Hospital.

Fewtrell’s last known address was in Ribbleton but it is understood he has no fixed accommodation.

Sgt Dave Herbert, of Preston Police, said: “If anyone has any information about his whereabouts please pass it on through the police number 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
