Police blocked off three roads in Penwortham as a group of traveller families pitched up on school playing fields.
The roads affected by the action at around 9.45am on Friday were a set-back section of Liverpool Road near Howick Cross, Moor Avenue and Howick Moor Lane.
Eyewitnesses said between eight and 12 families with caravans, cars and wagons, have set up on fields belonging to Howick C of E Primary School.
They are the same group of travellers who took over an area of grassland at Penwortham Holme sports fields earlier in the month.
They were moved on by South Ribble Council officials at 9.40am, who then made officers at Lancashire County Council aware they had moved to the school property.
