Police probing a stabbing in Preston have arrested a man.

Det Sgt Andy Dixon, of Preston CID, told the Evening Post a 35-year-old from the city was arrested on suspicion of wounding.

He was questioned late on Thursday night and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Officers were called to Brixton Road, Frenchwood, last Friday by paramedics treating a man with a deep wound to his arm.

The victim, said to be 32, was taken to hospital by ambulance where his condition was later said to be “stable.”

The alarm was raised at 1.45pm.
