Police are appealing for information after two betting shops were robbed last month, in separate incidents.

The first robbery happened at around 9.25am at the Bet Fred shop, Blackpool Road, Ashton on August 24 when two men are thought to have approached the shop from the Kimberley Road area.

One waited outside whilst the other entered the shop and demanded money from the staff inside.

He is believed to have threatened staff with a knife, and after placing nearly £350 cash into a black bag and leaving the shop, both men were seen heading off on foot towards Kimberley Road.

The man who entered the shop is described as a white male of a slim build and spoke with a Liverpool accent.

He was wearing a distinctive grey patterned bandana over the lower half of his face and a tight black hat.

The other man was wearing a light coloured hooded top and dark coloured pants.

In a separate incident on the same date, Bet Fred on Blackpool road, Ribbleton was also subject to a robbery.

A lone male is believed to have entered the shop at around 8.20pm and demanded that staff handover cash.

He got away with more than £200.

He is described as of a stocky build wearing dark baggy tracksuit bottoms, a black bomber style jacket and black trainers with reflective stripes on the side.
