A known thief who was found in possession of a suspicious array of tools, including bolt croppers, an LED torch, craft knife, a manicure tool, electrical tape, and an allen key has been jailed for 112 days.

Lee Patrick Gorman, 30, of North Cliff Street, Preston, admitted having articles for use in the course of theft after he was stopped in Leyland on October 20.

The bench at Preston Magistrates’ Court ordered him to pay an £80 victim surcharge and £150 court charge, and ordered the tools to be forfeited.

Magistrates said custody was necessary due to his previous “very lengthy” record.
