A MAN who admits using abusive behaviour claims he was “robbed” by a cabbie who tried to charge him £40 for a journey from Preston Jobcentre to ASDA Fulwood.

Andrew Peacock, 40, of Highfell Rise, Skipton, was given a discharge for 12 months after an incident on Pittman Way, Fulwood.

Preston Magistrates’ Court ordered him to pay a £150 court charge and £15 surcharge.

He said: “I was shouting at the taxi driver but he was shouting at me as well. I don’t think it’s fair.”

Prosecuting, Andrea Fawcett said: “Clearly he feels he was wronged on the night but perhaps didn’t deal with it well.”
