Police are appealing for information after a “nasty attack” outside a Lancashire takeaway.
A 42-year-old man was punched in the face by another man outside the Pizzeta Republic takeaway on North Road in Lancaster at about 3.30am on March 2.
Officers said it would appear the offender had initially made insulting comments towards the victim’s wife inside the takeaway.
The victim’s wife then left the takeaway to challenge the man’s behaviour outside and when the victim went outside to find her, he was then assaulted.
The assault left the victim with a cut to his left eyebrow and bruising underneath his left eye.
The attacker is described as being white, of broad build, approximately 6ft 2in tall, and had short, dark brown hair.
PC Rachel Crossley described the incident as a “nasty attack”.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101.
