A MAN who had a 10-year ban prohibiting him from touching men’s muscles has had the order lifted by a court.

Akinwale Arobieke’s fascination with men’s muscles has resulted in various brushes with the law, including an incident at The Mall St George’s shopping centre in Preston.

He is known for approaching young men and asking to touch their muscles.

The 54-year-old was made the subject of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order banning him from touching muscles and going to gyms. He has subsequently been convicted on numerous occasions for breaching the order.

Now the order has been lifted after Arobieke argued his behaviour was not in itself criminal and was not of a sexual nature.

Judge Richard Mansell QC, sitting at Manchester Crown Court, lifted the order saying the restrictions on his freedoms could no longer be justified.

The appeal came as Arobieke, who is from Liverpool, was given a suspended sentence for breaching the ban.

He was given an 18-month suspended sentence.
