The 27 year old man was found by police with a stab wound to his abdomen after a member of the public nearby rang 999 and called for an ambulance.

At this time it is unclear how the man came about his injuries but it is believed the stabbing may be linked to a party at a nearby address. The victim is recovering from his injuries at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

DS Jerry Sturgess of Preston CID said: “We believe that there may have been an altercation between males in the Garsdale Road area. We would urge anyone who saw any of the incident or has any information that could assist with our enquiries to come forward. Luckily the victim has not suffered more serious injuries as the consequences could easily have been significantly worse"
