Jilted lover Jason Taylor, accused of murdering a man he found at his ex-girlfriend’s house told a friend he had a knife held to his throat at the house in Lostock Hall weeks before, a court has heard.
Taylor, 21, denies murdering Adam Wilson, who died from a stab wound to his leg.
Friends who knew Taylor, of Westfield Road, Lostock Hall, said he had been in a relationship with mum-of-two Jodie Emery for several months and had been in regular phone contact with her. But they said in the weeks before the murder at her home in Albrighton Crescent, he had been “frustrated” when he was in touch with her.
One friend, Joe Powell, said he had tried to advise Taylor to end the relationship during a night out in the Tardy Gate pub in Lostock Hall.
The same night Taylor had punched another friend, Christopher Newsham, and had broken a window with his head.
In a police statement read to the jury at Preston Crown Court, Mr Powell said: “He did tell me about an occasion when he had a knife held to his throat. He said he’d found somebody at Jodie’s address and went round to speak to her. This person held a knife to his throat.
“I wouldn’t say JT [sic] is an agressive person but since he’s been with Jodie he’s been frustrated. He has told me he suspects people have been at Jodie’s house and he has been round and found them there.”
