Residents of Higher Walton have asked for more street lights to help stop crime.

People living in Kittlingbourne Brow want the lights installing in an alleyway at the rear of their homes after an increase in problems over the past year.

There have been nine reports made to the police during that time, including damage to cars and windows.

The problems have meant that the area has been set as a PACT priority three times in 12 months and officers have increased their high-visibility presence.

The request is being supported by neighbourhood police officers and Councillor Barrie Yates, who is speaking to Lancashire County Council.

Coun Yates said street lights would increase visibility and heighten public confidence at the rear of the properties where cars are parked.
