Headbutting shame

A man who used violence to get into a house and assault a man has been given 12 weeks in jail suspended for 12 months.

Scott Roy Peter MacGregor, 25, of Old Millstones, Preston, must do 120 hours unpaid work after admitting headbutting a man in a “sustained” attack while children were in the house on Heathfield Drive in Brookfield.

Magistrates ordered him to pay £250 compensation, an £80 surcharge, and £85 costs.

PRESTON: A man who threatened to kill a woman has been jailed for six months.

Thomas Rodgers, 44, of Ribbleton Lane, Preston, was told it was aggravated by the defendant’s record of previous offending.

He was given a five-year restraining order and must pay an £80 surcharge and £180 courts charge.

PRESTON: A man has admitted a charge of using or threatening unlawful violence.

Dylan May, 19, of Woodplumpton Road, Ashton, Preston, must attend probation activities for 35 days, and pay a £10 fine, £60 surcharge £85 costs and a £180 court charge, Preston Magistrates’ Court ruled.

PRESTON: A 56-year-old man who admits causing actual bodily harm to a woman will be sentenced at Preston Crown Court.

Stephen Carney, of Liverpool Road North, Burscough, will appear on July 7.

Mark Reid, 30, of Fishergate Hill, Preston, was told some planning had gone into the theft and received a curfew.

He must pay an £80 surcharge and £150 courts charge following his guilty plea.

PRESTON: A man who harassed another man by sending him threatening messages through the Facebook website is expected to be sentenced on June 30 at Preston Crown Court.

Luke Cornell Wordingham, 24, of Round Avenue, Rugby, Warwickshire, admits a charge of harassment.

Lee Bray, 35, of Higher Bank Road, Fulwood, Preston, was found guilty of failing to give driver information and must pay a £600 fine, £60 surcharge and £85 costs.

Rachel Livesey, 31, of Barnfield, Lostock Hall, was found guilty of driving without insurance and must pay a £600 fine, £60 surcharge and £85 costs.

Mark Englishby, 39, of Arnside Road, Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston, must observe a restraining order and pay £60 compensation and a £150 courts charge after admitting damaging a woman’s cooker top.

Terrance Porter, 48, of St Thomas Street, Preston, admits damaging a phone and was discharged for 12 months but must pay a £15 surcharge and £150 courts charge.

Alexander Ferguson, 56, of Chaddock Street, Preston, admit breaching a restraining order and must take part in a probation activity and pay a £50 fine and £60 surcharge.

Albert Hamill, 55, of Glenview Court, Ribbleton, Preston, admits being drunk and disorderly, putting him in breach of a court discharge, and must pay a £20 fine, a £20 surcharge and a £150 court charge.

Irene Smith, 60, of Farm Avenue, Adlington, near Chorley, was banned for three years after admitting drink driving and must pay a £110 fine, £20 surcharge and £85 costs.

Lee Gerrard, 31, of Albany Court, Chorley, was found guilty of possessing articles for use in a theft and was given a curfew and ordered to pay a £60 surcharge and £75 costs.
