Driver did not stop

A MAN refused to stop his BMW for police officers, Preston Magistrates’ Court has heard.

Tahir Bashir Akhtar, 28, of South Meadow Lane, Broadgate, Preston, failed to stop the car as he drove down Avenham Street in Preston on April 17, the court heard.

He pleaded guilty in a hearing.

He was ordered to pay a £95 fine, £20 surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 criminal court charge by the bench.

PRESTON: A man who caused £350 damage to a taxi window and wing in an incident in Preston has been ordered to pay a £75 fine, £350 compensation, a £20 surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 court charge.

Jonathan Luke David Shorrock, 31, of Lowther Street, Ashton-On-Ribble, Preston, pleaded guilty to criminal damage before Preston magistrates.

LEYLAND: A man has admitted he stole a set of car keys from a house, then took a car without consent, and drove it without insurance or a licence - while he was disqualified.

Liam David Mcdonald, 18, of Watkin Lane, Lostock Hall, Preston, will be sentenced at Preston Crown Court on July 21.

PENWORTHAM: Michael Walton, 31, of Higher Croft, Penwortham, must do 160 hours unpaid work after admitting using threatening behaviour, and must pay a £60 surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 court charge.

LOSTOCK HALL: A 24-year-old man who stole £185 cash from a pub was given a 12 month conditional discharge after Preston magistrates heard he had repaid it.

Jonathan George Thomas Blackburn, of Constable Avenue, Lostock Hall, Preston, must pay a £15 victim surcharge after admitting the theft from the Anchor Inn.

PRESTON: A man who took items from a shop display and claimed he wanted a refund for £59.99 has been given a curfew by Preston magistrates.

Daniel Cookson, 53, of Shakespeare Road, Preston, admitted fraud by false representation, after the incident on April 20, and must pay £59.99 compensation and a £180 court charge.

PRESTON: Jack Sims, 21, of Preston New Road, Blackburn, admits exposing himself in Preston and using threatening behaviour on June 3, and will be sentenced by Preston magistrates on a date to be confirmed.

Elaine Heap, 49, of Cordwainers Court, Buckshaw Village, Chorley, was discharged for three months after admitting being drunk and disorderly but must pay a £150 court charge.

Stuart Lord, 45, of Hollingshead Road, Chorley, was discharged for six months after admitting stealing hand tools but must pay a £15 surcharge and £150 court charge.

Danielle Wilson, 21, of Heywood Road, Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston, admits driving without insurance and must pay a £20 surcharge and a £150 court charge.

Vincent Bullock, 38, of Castleton Road, Deepdale, Preston, was discharged for 12 months after admitting stealing coffee and meat but must pay almost £70 compensation.

Eric Robinson, 60, of Mead Avenue, Leyland, was banned for 22 months after admitting drink driving and must pay a £110 fine, £20 surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 court charge.

Sheila Farrell, 29, of Mark Close, Penwortham, Preston, must pay a £35 fine, £20 surcharge and £85 costs after admitting being drunk and disorderly.

Dean Graham, 23, of Miller Road, Ribbleton, Preston, must pay a £65 fine, £20 surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 courts charge after admitting being drunk and disorderly.

Joanne Vickers, 45, of Villiers Court, Preston, admits possessing diamorphine and must pay a £75 fine, £20 surcharge, £85 costs and a £180 courts charge.

Graham Bain, 48, Ashbourne Crescent, Ingol, Preston, was given a curfew after admitting stealing groceries and must pay a £60 surcharge, £85 costs and a £180 courts charge.
