He pleaded guilty to failing to stop, drink driving, driving while disqualified and uninsured and driving without due care and attention.

The court heard how the 30-year-old was driving a blue Peugeot 206 on Goulding Street, Chorley, on June 10 this year when an accident happened.

The bench imposed 12 weeks suspended for 12 months and said it was aggravated by the fact a collision had occurred, previous convictions for similar offences, a bad record, and he posed a risk to other road users and pedestrians.

He must pay a £115 surcharge.
