A woman who has persistently stalked and harassed a Preston man has been jailed by magistrates for 16 weeks.

Feroza Yusuf Ali, of Dodgson Road, Preston, previously had a restraining order but committed her latest misdemeanours shortly after it expired,

The 36-year-old defendant admitted charges of stalking and harassment in a hearing before Preston Magistrates’ Court.

The bench said her offences had “involved planning” and that she “ignored distress to the victim”.

She had a history of failing to comply with community orders, prosecutors said.

The court heard Ali phoned her victim at his place of work and turned up outside his home.

She was given another restraining order to protect him, alongside the jail term.

She must also pay an £80 victim surcharge.
