Woman fined after car crash
A woman has been fined for driving without due care and attention, after a crash where she broke her leg. Abbygayle Cowell, 20, of Waterloo Terrace, Ashton, admitted colliding head-on with a Nissan while driving on Stanifield Lane in Farington. The driver of the Nissan sustained a fractured tibia, collarbone, and broken ribs. Cowell was fined £70 and given six points.
Man’s pub ban slashed in half
A man who was banned from Longridge pubs for 12 months has had the ban reduced by six months after successfully appealing to the town’s Pubwatch committee. The man received the ban for anti-social behaviour.
Price to pay for stolen alcohol
Stealing a bottle of liquer has cost a shoplifter £100. Cain Brier admitted theft of a £4.99 bottle of Amaretto from Aldi. Lancaster magistrates ordered the 43-year-old, of the city’s Austwick Road, to pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge. He was conditionally discharged for a year.
