British Transport Police want to speak to this man after 20-year-old woman was indecently assaulted on a train.

The assault took place shortly after 4pm on Wednesday, June 10, when a man boarded the First TransPennine Express service at Preston station and sat next to his victim.

Now officers are trying to identify the man captured on CCTV, as he may have valuable information about the incident.

Investigating officer PC Daniel Naylor said: “This was an extremely frightening experience for the victim. The man sat next to her and repeatedly touched her and made sexual advances.

“Despite his victim telling him to stop he persisted, eventually even asking for her contact details before he left the train at Deansgate.

“It is vital we speak to the man in the image as we believe he could have important information about what happened.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or text 61016, quoting reference PSUB/B2 of 07/07/2015. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
