Freckleton vicar and daughter re-bailed until July

A LANCASHIRE vicar and his daughter arrested on suspicion of murder and conspiracy to conceal the birth of a child have been re-bailed until July.

Rev Jim Percival, 65, from Holy Trinity church in Freckleton and his daughter, Ruth 28, were re-bailed on Thursday.

He had also been arrested on suspicion of rape but has now been released without charge in relation to that matter.

Rev Percival, his wife Susan and daughter Ruth were arrested in December. Susan, 66, has been released with no further action. A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “A 65-year-old man and 28-year-old woman from Freckleton arrested on suspicion of murder and conspiracy to conceal the birth of a child have been re-bailed until July. A 66-year-old woman from Freckleton arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to conceal the birth of a child has been released no further action. “The 65-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of rape but has now been released without charge in relation to that matter.”
