A repeat food and drink thief is to appear in court for sentencing.

Thomas George Park, 31, of Thornton Road, Morecambe, is being held in custody until August 27, when he will receive his punishment at Lancaster Magistrates’ Court.

He has been refused bail because officials believe he is at a high risk of reoffending, and because of the seriousness of the crime.

Last week Park admitted to magistrates that on June 27 in Morecambe he obtained a Chinese meal and drinks for two worth £60.20, knowing that payment for it would not be made.

Three days later, on June 30 in Morecambe, Park entered a hotel and obtained and consumed a bottle of lager and a bottle of Africana Ridge Shiraz to the value of £18.55, knowing once again he would not be paying for the goods.

Court officials are now drawing up a pre-sentence report to determine the most suitable punishment.
