An elderly man was treated for shock and puncture wounds after he was attacked by a dog.
Preston Fire Service came across the man in Avenham Park, Preston near the old tram bridge on Tuesday morning.
A spokesperson from Lancashire Police said: “The fire crew came across the man who appeared to have been attacked by a dog - the breed of which is still unknown.
“He was treated for puncture wounds to his arms and bruises to his leg by the ambulance service.
“As he appeared to be in shock he was taken to Royal Preston Hospital as a precautionary measure.”
It is believed that the man is not looking to press any charges.
