Police have released a CCTV image of a suspected English Defence League supporter from Preston wanted in relation to a racist attack.
The assault happened at around 6.45pm on Monday, August 26 last year, when a 19-year-old man was sat in his car outside a fast food shop on Bradshawgate in Bolton.
The victim was racially abused by a gang of men and when he got out of his car he was punched in the face, suffering a cut to his eye.
Witnesses intervened and the offenders ran off.
Det Con Gary Knox said: “We believe this man had attended an EDL march earlier that day before drinking at a pub in the town centre.
“Following the incident, we believe he has caught a train and got off in the Preston area. Thankfully, the victim did not receive a serious injury and was treated in hospital for a cut.
“I would ask people to take a good look at the image and if they recognise him, to contact police.”
