A PURSE was stolen by bogus callers who targeted an elderly couple.
Around 12.50pm on Tuesday, three men approached a property in Back Lane, Clayton-le-Woods, near Chorley, posing as water board workers.
The trio told the elderly homeowners they were working in the area and a pipe had been cut.
Once inside the house the men stole a purse containing £120 and left.
Police have appealed for witnesses.
